Everyspot social networking for surfers
If you haven't heard about EverySpot then you are missing out! This is what the team at Everyspot say about the service/site, They put it a lot more eloquently than I could try to muster up so I will let them take it away. "Every-Spot is the 1st social destination for surfers and skaters all around the globe! Browse spots, Schedule sessions, Upload pics and vids, Share local news, Meet friends".
There you have it in a nutshell. I'm sure they are going to hate me for this comparison but the way I see it is it's the facebook for surfers! But hold on ! By this I mean what facebook was initially intended for. Back when it was limited to college students and a specific niche social group. People could share papers etc and ran in the same social circles. We all know how facebook turned out not in a bad way it just organically grew that way. In my opinion it's what we will see start to happen with social networking.
I think or more hoping that sites like Everyspot are the face of things to come in networking more Niche social networking. I see them taking a step back from catering to a billion people and more to a group with very specific interests creating a communities around those interests. Just think about it for a second: Isn't it more fun socializing with people at a party with similar interests and have a deep knowledge of your chosen social activity and the party decorations have everything to do with what you enjoy. or would you like to hang out around a group who have no similar interests what so ever .
I know facebook touches on this with pages etc, but they are never going to be able to give you the same kind of interaction that a smaller social site can. A network who's entire existence is to cater for your specific "LIKE" in this case surfing. Just go along to Everyspot and you will see what I'm talking about. Obviously not everyone is into Surfing, and if you are not find your own social niche networking site. I'm sure somebody is dreaming it up somewhere.
Also the guys that run Every spot Rob and Arial site are super cool dudes so support the small guys! try get Zuckerberg to return an email.. lol !! I'm not anti Facebook by any means but its allways good to get variety
