The 18th Annual Venice Surfathon
Early Saturday morning was the 18th Annual Surfathon on Venice Beach. It was also the first Slyde Handboards Handboarding/bodysurfing competition. A first for the Surfathon and hopefully it will continue as a yearly favorite. The winner of the handboarding event, Johnny a Venice local won a Slyde Handboards Hell Wave. We all had a sick time even though the conditions were anything but perfect. We will be holding another event closer to the Summer for our grand launch of the wooden woody board so if you missed this awesome event the next will be just as much fun so we will keep you in the loop as things unfold.

Early morning Venice Beach! It is the best time to be hanging around. Give it another hour and the freaks come out. I gotta say its what makes the place special but for a bit of change this really is a great time.
Early morning start on a more or less deserted Venice Beach at the breakwater. It was pretty chilly but all the boys were up for it.
Russel makes sure all the equipment is industry standard and no cheating was going on. There were high stakes involved and the pressure was starting to play its toll. lol.
Post competition group photo all the boys were super stoked on the boards and we had a bit of a mission trying to get them all back.
