365 days 20mins a day 1 woman Beach Clean up

I very briefly met Sara Bayles at the surfrider and Heal the bay collaboration beach cleanup on Saturday morning. I say Briefly because she was in the middle of tallying up the Trash that had been collected by all the participants in the clean up While i was talking to her she was way over 100 Pounds of trash. It was enough time for her to explain her one woman mission to picking up trash every morning for 20 minutes at time on the Santa Monica Beach as of right now she has collected 820.8 pounds of trash. Her crusade apparently started from asking the question : "How many pounds of trash could I collect from the beach in one year"?  and so she set out to find out how much she could. While i was listening to her explain her mission to another intersted party on the beach she ended off with "I know i sounds kind of crazy, right" all i can say to that is we need more people like her! we will be following her progress!
