"With Body Surfing you don't take anything for granted! You ride the wave as far as you can, you don't kick out because the barrel stopped. You realize how much room there is out there, even with all the people." Kelly Slater

"We as a species are connected to the ocean. All living thing come from the ocean. Body Surfing is a chance to get back to your roots, It's the ability to feel the energy." Laird Hamilton

Slyde on Refraction Magazine

While at Surf Expo last month, we were overwhelmed by the surf community's positive response to our boards. Especially our new "Woody" model! Steve sat down with Spencer Higgs for an interview about the sport, the boards, and design. Check it out!

"This Shit Rocked Surf Expo"

"If screw-less fins will revolutionize surfing, this will revolutionize how you look at waves. It will also increase your tube time. Have I got your attention, now? Thanks to progressivists such as Rob Machado, Dane Reynolds, and Dane Gudauskas, the ride anything movement has really taken off. Surfers are starting to branch out of their one-design shells and experiment a little—not just with new shapes, but with entirely new approaches to riding waves. Steve Watts moved to Venice Beach, California having surfed all over the world, at some of the most dangerous and challenging breaks out there. Which makes his adoption of handboarding—an evolved form of bodysurfing—so interesting, so peculiar, and so unorthodox. But maybe it’s not so inconceivable; his handboards encompass all the aspects of surfboards to produce an incredible ride, though you’re riding more in the wave than on it." -Spencer Higgs
