MY LIFEINWATER: A WATERMAN'S STORY

I recently, as a result of modern technology and the wonders of the "intra-web" had a cyber handshake with a fellow water lover and all round waterman, or should I say Manzi Man as he hails from my birthplace on the very tip of africa. Meet Charl!  Charl is the owner of MYLIFEINWATER blog and as you can imagine it is dedicated to, as we are here at Slyde everything water related. Under ,over, through you name we want to do it. Charl lives at a beyond beautifull spot called  Melkbos Strand, and does most of his bodysurfing  at a spot called Derde Steen and  a few other gems up the coast. As he puts it: "It's all pretty much heavy & hollow shorebreaks. Other than that, I make my own Paipo boards out of plywood, for when the days are flat, or I take out my 4GF surfmat"

"I sincerely respect all forms of human aquatic pursuit, i am personally most motivated to explore water at Face Level… for all the media attention that many of the mainstream water-sports enjoy, there is  a fundamental difference between being in water and being on it. I like being in water."

All Hail the true Waterman! We live a life not about "what" we ride but  where and with how much fun.
