"With Body Surfing you don't take anything for granted! You ride the wave as far as you can, you don't kick out because the barrel stopped. You realize how much room there is out there, even with all the people." Kelly Slater

"We as a species are connected to the ocean. All living thing come from the ocean. Body Surfing is a chance to get back to your roots, It's the ability to feel the energy." Laird Hamilton

Know Where You Come From

Gather round boys and girls time for learning! it has come to my attention not a hell of a lot of people understand where, what, who or anything else for that matter about Bodysurfing/Handboarding. Believe it or not its older than surfing! Starting many moons ago in Tahiti, Polynesia, back in the good ol days of Captain Cook. Without his Blackberry and with just the help of his trusty side kick Roger and the stars. Captain Cook initiating the sport while exploring Tahiti in 1769.

Cook seized the opportunity to try and catch the large waves in the area without a buoyancy aid or board. During that period only Kings were allowed to (board) surf; However body surfing was permitted for the common people. bodysurfing spread quickly to other countries, influencing the birth of surfing. The sport was later banned by missionaries but nowadays the sport is as popular as all hell from Australia to South Africa and all over the world The sport is gaining some serious momentum and rapidly gaining cult status. Unlike back in the day with captain hook all you need is your blackberry and there's even an app that tells you where the good surf really is! of course everybody else has it, so it may not as un-crowded as Capt'n Cook sesh but hell it's all about getting wet. so let's keep it going for another for another 500 years. Remember to respect the ocean and your environment. and as always get shacked cuz
