1. Dog Friendly

It's true that all dogs go to heaven, and it's called Huntington Dog Beach. This spectacular beach is located along the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) between Seapoint Avenue and 21st Street. Here you can let your best friend off leash, and enjoy some play time with other beach-friendly dogs.  If you enjoy trail runs together, then the adjacent  Dog Beach Trail is close by, which covers a round-trip distance of 1.6 miles.   

2. The Pier

You can’t visit this amazing spot without stopping at the Huntington Beach Pier. It is one of the longest public piers on the West Coast. Boasting an awesome treat at the end of the pier, Rubys Surf City Diner, where you can enjoy a delicious shake and fries, while taking in stunning panoramic views of Catalina Island, Newport Beach to the south, and Long Beach and San Pedro to the north.  Plan your trip on a Friday afternoon, and catch the awesome farmers market, which is located just next to the Pier.

3. Kid Friendly Fun

Are you up for a holiday to Huntington Beach, California with your little ones? Then make sure that you packing a couple of extra sets of clothes for the day. The Huntington Central Park is the hub for an Adventure Playground. It has a primitive section of the park, in which there’s an opportunity for kids within the age range of 5-12 years to live out all their muddy dreams. Your kids will find a mudslide prime for sliding, a small pond to raft, and a variety of raw materials like plywood to construct a fort of their own. You will find this particular playground to be open only during the summers.

4.  Craft Beer

Northern California is known for its wine, but HB is a hub for great craft beer, with 5 noteworthy breweries flowing everyday of the week just minutes from the beach.  The list includes: Four Sons Brewing, Riip Beer Company, Dudes' Brewery, Huntington Beach Beer Company, Beachwood Brewing, Side Pour.

5. Volleyball

If you love to play volleyball then you are certainly in luck. Huntington Beach is an integral part of the annual Association of Volleyball Players Beach Volleyball Tour,boasting nearly two dozen nets on either side of the pier await players of all skill levels, and are free to use.

6. Beach Bonfires 

There's perhaps nothing more Southern Californian than a beach fire. Fire pits line the beach at Bolsa Chica State Beach and Huntington State Beach. All you need to bring is the wood, and s'mores for a momentous night to remember. 

7. Vans US Open of Surfing

Love festivals and world class surfing? The Us Open of Surfing is the world's largest gathering of the best surfers and the world, and crowd of 500,000 stoked out fans. This year the contest runs from July 27, 2019 - August 4, 2019. The free event, is the annual WSL qualifier competition, and also includes BMX and skateboarding as well as variety of alternative entertainment.
