Heal the Bay: Bring Back the Beach Benefit

Heal the Bay (aside from the Surfrider Foundation), is one of the organizations that Slyde Handboards actively and passionately supports and helps in the cleanup of our local beaches and oceans. It is important to us to help in the preservation of our coastline for obvious reasons. We are just as you sick of as you at missing sessions after rainstorms at the fear of risking water-born diseases or swimming though to the lineup only to be greeted by plastic bags and floating debris. It is possible for one person to make a difference. Find out the next beach clean up on either heal the bay or surfrider and get yourself down there early, grab a coffee and help clean a beach. 

As the Heal the Bay tag line goes:

"When we heal the earth, we heal ourselves."

I would try say it better, but I don’t think I could.  These are words to remember.

"We don’t inherit the earth from our ancestors, we are borrowing it from our children."

"Our rivers, our beaches and our ocean are incredible natural resources that serve as special spiritual sanctuaries.  But our coast provides not only intangible, emotional value.  A healthy marine ecosystem also serves as a critical source of real economic wealth in Southern California, from the bounty of seafood, recreation and tourism it provides.  When we protect the watersheds in which we all live, from the most inland neighborhood streets to the furthest edge of the sea, we protect our own well being."

Heal the Bay has been fighting the good fight since 1985 by fighting to make our rivers beaches and oceans healthy, safe and clean for our future generations
