Slyde Handboards Ambassadors: 9 Epic Application Responses

As some are applying to college, are others are being accepted as ambassadors of stoke at Slyde Handboards.

We launched the ambassadorprogram to compliment our team rider program, and have seen an on slot of amped water loving people from around the globe applying to be a part of this epic community.  

We ask all Slyde brand ambassador applicants the question
"Why do you want to be a Slyde Ambassador" and below are 9 thoughtful responses that earned these ambassadors acceptance letters.

"I want to be a Slyde ambassador because I love the sport of hand-planing and want to be it's representative in Eastern Canada. The sport is in its infancy here, but we have a ton of great waves and there's growing awareness of bodysurfing as a legitimate activity. I'd like to represent a brand I think is doing cool things and develop its presence in this part of the world. I am an avid sailor, surfer and bodysurfer. I make my living from the sea and love everything about. I want to translate my passion for the ocean into the development of Slyde's products."

"I have been stoked on Slyde since I first saw these rad handboards in a video on my Facebook feed. That was over two years ago, and I finally bought myself a board over a year ago and have been doing my best to get out when I can. I've been teaching myself to surf for over 10 years, and I've been bodyboarding and bodysurfing for as long as I can remember.

The beach and, even more so, the ocean have always been special places to me  and I never feel closer to them then when I'm in the water riding a wave. Being out there on a Slyde handboard is maybe my favorite way to ride waves  and I wanna share that stoke and psyche with as many people as I can.

I'll be honest - I don't get out as much as I would like. Being a full-time graduate student and scientist as well as a sponsored competitive rock climber takes up a lot of time. But I'll always represent Slyde to the best of my ability and spread the stoke and love wherever I go!"

I'm an ocean enthusiast and have a passion for the surf and swells it brings. I currently ride a Bula handgun and I am also a GoPro and surf photography fanatic. I share a stoke with my mates and encourage them to join me at the beach. I go to the beach almost everyday and I'm stoked about it. I'm very fortunate to live so close to the beach as it is my passion and the stoke it gives me is unreal.

I use a GoPro 24/7, it doesn't leave my side. Durban is currently starting a bodysurfing community where we will have contests running soon hopefully as there are already contests running in Cape Town. I've been referring others to your product as me and my uncle have been asked numerous times about our handboards as they stand out in the water. I would love to represent you brand as an ambassador.

I have been bodysurfing my entire life. I've used it all, lifeguard boys, in-n-out trays, whatever I could find. The first time I put on a handplane, it changed my world forever! I want to be a part of the revolution!!

I live in Ventura and am a salty water dog through and through. But, I've always felt out of place because I am not great at surfing. Also, as a seasoned spear fisherman I get sassed for always wanting flat, flat water. However, with my Slyde Phish I now get stoked when I hear today's surf report and call up the crew to go whomp! I would be honored to be an ambassador and join the family.
