WE LAUNCHED THE AMBASSADOR PROGRAM TO COMPLIMENT OUR TEAM RIDER PROGRAM, AND HAVE SEEN AN ON SLOT OF AMPED WATER LOVING PEOPLE FROM AROUND THE GLOBE APPLYING TO BE A PART OF THIS EPIC COMMUNITY.  

We ask all Slyde brand ambassador applicants the question

I want to be an ambassador because I live the Slyde-Huntington Beach Lifestyle! I enjoy being at the beach and in the water every weekend and after work. The U.S. Open of Surfing is my favorite time of year and I take my vacation during that week, so I can watch the event and jump into the waves to cool off. I am very excited to be invited to be an ambassador and I will do my best to represent. Also I like that you are wearing a Breakpoint shirt. I am on Team Breakpoint and train at King's MMA in Huntington. I am a purple belt and go the beach with my team.

I come from Suffolk in the UK, it’s not known for its waves and very few people surf...let alone handplane! I want to try and spread the stoke in my local area - help promote the sport and get more people to love our oceans again. I am a Regional Rep for Surfers Against Sewage, a marine conservation charity based in the UK, so I have experienced first hand the damage that we are doing to our oceans...but I have also experienced the joy it can bring to people once they learn to love it and use it. I’m not saying I’m the best bodysurfer in the world because I’m not - I grew up in Suffolk not Hawaii! Despite this there is nothing I love more than swimming out at my local break in 1-2 ft swell just to have fun - which is essentially what Slyde is all about. Having said that I love to travel in search of bigger and better swells, whether that’s in the UK or abroad. I have a few trips lined up so hopefully I should be able to find some decent waves! Being a Slyde ambassador would be a dream come true! To be able to help promote a brand and a sport to people who perhaps have never heard of them is an incredibly exciting prospect and one that I would love to be a part of!

I am 45 yrs old. My dad began teaching me how to bodysurf when I was 6-7 yrs old back in Puerto Rico. I later picked up boogie boarding, but my first love will always be bodysurfing. Three years ago I came across your YouTube videos and I ordered the Bula off Amazon. I tried it towards the end 2016 during our Labor Day week trip to Ocean City, MD, and caught a few waves. The weather was crappy, and I could not wait for our trips in 2017. I was blessed with better waves during our Memorial Day week trip to OC, and I could not put the Bula down. My wife and kids were at the pool, and I spent hours in the ocean catching waves. I did so again over the LB Day weekend trip, and both times I had people come up to me asking what was it that I was using. I proudly told them it was Slyde Handboard! This is by far the most fun I've had riding waves.

The freedom the Slyde Handboard gives me in the water vs. a boogie board, is awesome! I can dive through the waves and get back out to catch waves faster than with my board. In preparation for this year's trips I got my kids (14 yr girl and 12 yr boy), each a Slyde Grom board during your Sample Sale. I could not let that great opportunity pass us by. My wife doesn't swim, but I want to teach my kids just as my dad taught me, and for us to be part of, and represent the Slyde Family on the East Coast. I am getting a GoPro for my Bula, so hopefully I'll capture some footage to share. I'm also planning a trip to Puerto Rico and take my Bula with. I want people to see and ask us more about Slyde Handboards, and encourage them to go out and get one! Ever since I was born my family has traveled to the beaches of Ocean City, Maryland every summer. It is here where I fell in love with the salt life, beach lifestyle and my favorite water sport, body surfing. I have been an open ocean lifeguard for the past seven summers and the summer of 2018 with be my eighth. I love the connection I feel with the ocean, respect its power, beauty and want to help others in as many ways possible to have this same blissful connection that I do. Becoming a Slyde Ambassador would be a dream come true so I can continue my work as a beach safety educator, water-men and lover of nature. I want to show people the awesomeness of mother ocean while also feeling safe and confident in some of her more gnarly, awesome conditions. Hope to hear from you soon! With love and respect
